Rechargeable Candle Lighter

Tips on how to recharge and use your Zippo Rechargeable Candle Lighter to ensure it operates as intended, charge after charge after charge.

Q: How do I charge my rechargeable candle lighter?

A: Your lighter will arrive partially charged and must be fully charged before your first use. Use only the charging cable provided with your lighter to avoid potential overheating, leaking, or explosion. Follow these steps carefully:

  • Plug the small micro end of the charging cable into the small micro USB port. Plug the large USB end into a suitable charging device or listed/certified ITE power supply. Charging will begin automatically.
  • Blue indicator light will turn on during charging. Once the lighter is fully charged, the blue indicator light will shut off.
  • Periodically inspect the condition of the charging cable. Do not attempt to charge the lighter if the charging cable is damaged. Contact Zippo for replacement options if the cable has become worn or broken.
  • After charging/recharging, disconnect the charging cable.
  • When disconnecting the cord, be sure to pull by the plug rather than the cord to reduce risk of damage.
  • Store charging cable so it doesn’t become entangled or pose a safety hazard.
  • Keep charging cable away from sharp edges.

Q: The arc is not connecting between the two electrodes. How can I fix this?

A: Sometimes debris can build on the arcs. We recommend using a non-metallic item such as a toothpick to lightly remove any debris. Please use great care while cleaning to avoid damaging the electrodes.

Q: How do I operate my rechargeable candle lighter?

A: To operate, follow these important instructions:

  • Depress the safety lock button. The blue indicator light will turn on. Within less than two seconds, slide ignition switch forward and depress the safety lock button to ignite and hold to maintain the arc. Blue indicator light will turn on while your lighter is in use and the arc is on.
  • Release the ignition switch to stop the arc.
  • The arc will shut off automatically after 10 seconds unless released earlier.
