Fire Starting Multi-Tool
Learn how to properly use your Fire Starting Multi-Tool
Q: Why isn't the spark wheel sparking very much?
A: There are two likely reasons for lack of sparks from the spark wheel.
1. You may be rotating the flint wheel in the wrong direction.
Using your finger, rotate the flint wheel in the direction shown by the arrows to generate sparks.
2. The spark wheel flint may need replaced. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Extend the spark wheel by first fully opening the tinder grater, then open flint wheel sparker in opposite direction until arm is fully extended.
- Use fingers to fully remove tube by pulling on spark wheel
- Turn upside down and loosen the screw by fingers, flat head screwdriver or thin coin
- Remove screw and remove the worn flint
- Drop the new Zippo flint into the tube. For best performance use only genuine Zippo flints
- Reinsert spark wheel tube into arm
NOTE: Make sure the tube is inserted with the alignment notch facing the knife/saw blades. The spark wheel arm and tinder grater will not fully close if tube is inserted backwards.
TIP: Store up to two extra backup flints (not included) by sliding them into the storage slots on either side of top edge of spark wheel arm.
